    • 1 tablespoon baking powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
    • 1-1/2 cups fat-free milk
    • 1 cup canned pumpkin
    • 1/2 cup refrigerated or frozen egg product, thawed
    • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
    • Nonstick cooking spray
    • 1 recipe Orange Syrup (I have found and attached one below)
    • 1 orange, peeled and sectioned (optional)
  Directions
In a medium bowl stir together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, and pumpkin pie spice. Make a well in the center of flour mixture.
In another medium bowl combine the milk, pumpkin, egg product, and oil. Add the milk mixture all at once to flour mixture. Stir just until moistened (batter should be lumpy).
Lightly coat a nonstick griddle or heavy skillet with cooking spray. Heat over medium heat. For each pancake, pour about 1/4 cup batter onto the hot griddle or skillet. Cook over medium heat about 2 minutes or until pancakes have bubbly surfaces and edges are slightly dry. Turn pancakes; cook about 2 minutes more or until golden brown. Serve warm with Orange Syrup and, if desired, orange sections. Makes 8 servings.
Orange Syrup: In a small saucepan stir together 1 cup orange juice, 2 tablespoons honey, 2 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch, and 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir for 2 minutes more. Serve warm. Makes about 1 cup.

Photography

I love finding beauty in so many things, but one thing I love is photography. There is something so beautiful about a picture. It captures a moment in time you will never get back. It captures a laugh, or a smile. It captures love and life and so much more, but above all it capture beauty. Below is a picture I took at the beach. The ocean is such an amazing thing, this picture to me is a place of peace.

Open/Floating Shelving

So something I wasn't sure about when I first looked at it I now love! I love open shelving. I think if done right it really can create so much more storage. I think if you have a smaller space bringing in a piece of furniture doesn't really make to much sense. I think when it comes to open shelving many people don't know what to do with it, or they don't like to idea of having to always keep things just so. Well the best solution for that is to put decorative baskets on the shelves and to put the items inside. This way you get a great clean look while storing things inside. If you don't have a proper linen closet this is something great to add to a guest bathroom with clean towels for you guests. This is especially great if you have limited space under the sink. This way you can place the towels out in advance for you guests, along with some nice soaps for their use. They can also be used to put all your hair products, and blow dryers, and other items. This avoids the clutter on the counter top! Open shelving is very affordable, and be taken with you when you decided to move spaces. There are so many different ways to use these shelves, all you have to do is get creative! Below is a picture to give you some ideas! These shelves would even be cute used as a night stand or side table with a nice basket or decorative box underneath for great storage!

Something Yummy for the Fall

When the weather starts to get cooler, everyone gets excited about sweaters, jackets, and good food. I have come across a recipe on a website that looks so good for the upcoming cooler months. This recipe is for a Walnut Streusel Apple Pie. This looks like a great treat to have with a nice cup of coffee after dinner for a nice way to end you day. I have not made it myself, but it is something that I will be making this season. I love all the ingredients in the recipe so I'm definitely going to give it a shot. This looks like something that would be easy to make for any guests or a treat just for you. If you decided to make this wonderful fall treat, let me know how you like it!

Kitchen Daily

Ingredients:

    • 1 refrigerated ready-to-use pie crust (from a 5-oz box)
    • Streusel Topping
    • 1/2 cup each all-purpose flour, packed light brown sugar and chopped walnuts
    • 1 tsp apple pie spice
    • stick butter, cut in small pieces (we used Land O'Lakes Light)
    • Filling
    • 6 Granny Smith, Crispin (Mutsu), Pippin, Jonagold, Northern Spy or Greening apples (3 lb)
    • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
    • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
    • 3 Tbsp all-purpose flour
    • 1 tsp apple pie spice
    • Garnish: confectioners' sugar

Directions
You'll need a 9-in. pie plate. Place one oven rack in lowest position. Place a square of foil on rack to catch any drips.
Line pie plate with pie crust as package directs. Flute or crimp edge.
Streusel
Filling: Peel, halve and core apples. Cut in 1/8-in.-thick slices by hand (or with the slicing disk of a food processor). Place in a large bowl, add lemon juice (to prevent browning) and toss to coat. Mix remaining ingredients in a small bowl, sprinkle over apple slices and toss to coat.
Heat oven to 450°F.
Layer apple slices in pie shell, mounding them higher in center. Gently press mound to compact apples. Pat and press the topping mixture evenly over apples to form a top crust.
Bake 15 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350°F and loosely cover pie with foil. Bake 45 minutes longer or until a skewer meets a little resistance when center of pie is pierced (apples will continue cooking after pie is removed from oven) and topping is golden brown. To serve warm, cool about 1/2 hour on a wire rack or let cool completely. Pie will sink a little. It's best on the day it's made, but you can keep up to 4 days loosely covered at room temperature.

    Master Bedroom

I think this day in age everyone wants a nice Master Bedroom that is large, and has a big closet and bathroom. I totally agree that all those feature are very important. I think once people get to that point that they don't really know what they want to do with that space. So I have noticed that most people will just put their furniture in the bedroom, and then forget about making it a great space. I believe that your Master Bedroom should be a place you want to go to relax, and enjoy your time. Bedrooms are now being used for more than just sleeping, and people should enjoy being in them. I saw this picture on a website that I think gives GREAT ideas for a wonderful Master Bedroom get away, and I have put it below for you to view.

Something I really love about this room are the beautiful chandeliers that hang from the ceilings. This is great because it adds an wonderful soft lighting. This adds a wonderful elegant feeling, without being over the top. They are a great focal point for the room. With the lights hanging from the ceiling this way, it give you the opportunity to have wonderful smaller end tables for a few pictures or flowers. Most Rooms are not large enough to have multiple seating options like the room above but they show you how even just adding one extra seating option it can make it more inviting. As far as the bedding goes I love how the bed spread is in neutral colors with the pops of the wonderful blue. The walls are a great green that makes the room appear warmer, and a place where you can relax. There is minimal art work on the wall which makes the walls look clean and yet not bare. When I saw this room I just loved it! It looks like a place where you can go an relax and read a book, or go and enjoy being in this space. I hope you like this space that I found. I thought it was a great piece to look at and get ideas from! Make your bedroom a special place!
